As a Teaching Assistant, Instructor, or individual with another role at a university, you are an employee and representative of that institution and its best practices. For this reason, some academic institutions may be uncomfortable with their employees seeking support from services outside their influence.

While Trillium Academics aims to provide all our clients with effective support and strategies for their roles, we do not operate under the oversight of a university.

We suggest reaching out to your institution to see what supports are available to you through them. Additionally, you can let them know that you are interested in accessing our service and see if you can get permission to use it.

If you are seeking support and are not going to apply this to your role at an unaffiliated institution, we are more than happy to help you!

If you are a member of your institution with the authority to approve your employees accessing our service, we are more than happy to work with you!

We aim to uphold your institutional guidelines and practices to the best of our abilities when working with our clients. Each institution has unique expectations for their employees and we want to ensure that any of your employees accessing our service receives the information necessary to them. Since our goal is supporting your staff, it is in our best interest to give them the information necessary to succeed.

By approving our service, an institution is entitled to the following:

• Approved Topics - You can limit the support we provide your employees to certain topics (e.g. time management, classroom management, presentation skills) while ensuring they access internal resources for all others.

• Website Page - We will create a dedicated page on our site that provides a simple overview of when they should access our service and recommend university services to access before booking an appointment.

• Internal Documentation - We will create a section of our internal resources detailing the specific needs of your employees and how they may differ from other institutions. You can update and modify this at any time.

• Information Sharing - Protect your intellectual property by clarifying what resources, such as syllabi or assignment instructions, your employees can share. You can limit lengths and we will encourage employees to work within them during appointments.

• Others - If you want other oversight that is not listed here, reach out to institutions@trilliumacademics.ca and we will do our best to work with you while ensuring your employees get judgement-free support.

There is no cost to approving your institution. We may ask for some approval to include your logo on our site or mention it on social media, but there is no cost to approve!
