What We Do

Trillium Academics is dedicated to supporting teaching assistants and educators that directly interact with students, but may not receive the support they need from their institutions. We have easy asynchronous (“on your schedule”) help, and individual appointments to help you navigate the concerns that arise. We understand that you are more than just TAs; you may be parents, caregivers, students, workers, and much more (sometimes all at once).

So let us help you, so you can focus on helping those students without the extra stress of figuring it out all on your own.

Who We Are

Based in Peterborough, Ontario, Trillium Academics was formed from a small team of educators and parents that recognized the gap in support for teaching assistants (TAs). In our time as TAs, we’ve had to figure a lot of it out and a lot of it out onto our own. Rather, than accepting that this is “just how it is,” we use our experience as TAs and other learning supports to help you navigate the complex needs that this role doesn’t prepare you for.

So let us help you succeed, so you can focus on helping those students while keeping the stress and uncertainty to a minimum.

Our Mission

Our goal is to make things easy and judgement-free. We know that it can be hard to bring up difficulties with your colleagues and peers without being judged. It can be even harder to know how to ask for help from the institution and instructors you work with. Whether you are preparing to stand in front of the room for the first time, or have been up there many times before and need some extra help, we are here for you.

We have a variety of ways to support you and we hope that you look through them. If you don’t see a service you feel that you need or aren’t sure if it’s right for you, contact us and we will see what we can do to help.

So whatever brought you to seek help, we are glad you did it. You have taken the first step to becoming a better educator.
